The wrapless Predator P3 USA is the cleanest way to show off this cue’s design. With no leather on the handle, the matte navy runs uninterrupted from joint to butt cap, and the gloss silver center stripe goes the full length with it. Predator released the P3 USA for the nation’s 250th birthday. The red etching on the carbon collar and butt cap is its nod to the signatures on the Declaration.

Why Some Players Skip the Wrap

A wrapless handle puts your hand right on the finish. Many players say it gives the most direct feel of the hit, since there’s no leather layer to soak anything up. It also lets your grip slide forward and back freely, which some players like for adjusting on the fly. The trade-off is moisture. If your hands sweat in a warm room, a bare handle can feel sticky or slick, and a glove or a quick wipe becomes part of your routine. The matte finish on the P3 USA helps here. It doesn’t get as tacky as gloss.

The Etched Details

There are three red etchings, and they’re the only color besides navy and silver. A P3 logo sits on the front of the matte carbon collar. The front of the matte carbon butt cap gets a Predator panther. On the back of the cap, Predator etched the P3 name with the cue’s serial number. It’s a small detail, but every P3 USA carries its own number.

P3 Construction

Predator says the P3 uses a 30-piece construction. Assembling the butt from that many smaller sections cancels out the quirks you get in a single big piece of wood. You get a stiff cue that plays the same way every time. Predator lists three benefits for it: maximized stiffness, pure positive feedback and a consistent hit with real accuracy. On a wrapless handle you feel that stiffness even more directly.

Joint and Weight

The joint is the Uni-Loc® Quick Release™, so any current Uni-Loc shaft, REVO or maple, will thread on. The cue comes in at 19 oz. With the Uni-Loc® Weight Cartridge System you can tune it from 18.5 up to 20.5 oz in tenths of an ounce.

Stock and Butt Length

This is a limited run, and Predator’s store listed both butt lengths as sold out on the day we posted it. We carry the 29″ butt. A 30″ version was also made, so call us if you need it and we’ll look into availability.

Pick 12.4 mm for the most familiar feel. Choose 11.8 mm if you want a slimmer shaft that deflects the least on English shots. Go with 12.9 mm if you want a fuller shaft through your bridge. Any of them can be added later as a second shaft, too.

Is the No Wrap Right for You?

If you already play wrapless, this is the obvious pick. You’ll also like it if you want the navy-and-silver design to look as clean as possible. If you play in hot rooms or your hand slips on bare finishes, the Leather Luxe version is the safer bet.

It’s on the reverse side of the butt cap, in red, beside the P3 name.

Does it come with a case?
No case comes with it. In the box you’ll find REVO wipes, a cleaning cloth and Predator patches.

How limited is it?
Predator calls it a limited-quantity release but hasn’t given a number.
