What's included in every pool table move

Every move follows the same process, whether it's across the room or across the county:

1. Inspection. We check the table's condition, slate type (one-piece or three-piece) and any existing damage before anything comes apart.
2. Full disassembly. Rails, pockets and felt come off and get labeled. Each slate slab is wrapped in moving blankets and secured on its own.
3. Safe transport. Slate boxes, dollies and pads made for billiard tables. Your table never goes in a truck in one piece.
4. Reassembly. The frame is set first, then each slab is positioned and shimmed before the next one goes down.
5. Precision leveling. We level with a machinist's level, not a phone app, so the ball rolls true from every pocket.
6. Cleanup. Every blanket, box and scrap of packing leaves with us. When we're done, you can rack and play.

How much does it cost to move a pool table in San Diego?

A local move with Billiards Direct starts at $500 for a 7- or 8-foot table and $550 for a 9-foot table. One-piece slate, stairs, long carries and add-ons like new felt raise the price. Our free online estimator gives you an exact quote.

Can I move a pool table without taking it apart?

You shouldn't. A slate table has to be disassembled so the slate can be carried separately. Moving it whole puts the slate and frame under stress they weren't built for, and that's how slate cracks.

Can a regular moving company move my pool table?

Most general movers take off the legs and carry the rest in one piece, or skip leveling at the new place. A pool table needs to be disassembled, moved in pieces and re-leveled by someone who knows how it goes back together.

Can you refelt my table during the move?

Yes, and it's the best time to do it. A standalone refelt runs $350 to $750. Added to a move, it starts at $200, because the felt has to come off anyway.

Do you move antique and Brunswick Gold Crown tables?

Yes. We move antique and specialty tables regularly and handle them with extra care.

Do you move one-piece slate tables?

Will you pick up a used table I bought from someone else?
