Predator – Sport 2 “Shorty” – Short Pool Cue – Wrapless – Purple

Predator Sport 2 Shorty 52-Inch Short Pool Cue, Purple, Wrapless

The Predator Sport 2 Shorty is a 52-inch pool cue that Predator made for tight spaces and junior players. This one has a purple metallic-finish forearm with the Sport 2 and Predator cat logos, a smooth wrapless handle, a black butt cap with a silver Predator logo, and Predator’s ONE low-deflection shaft on a Mini-Radial joint.

Heads up: this one is sold out, and Predator has discontinued the Shorty line, so we don’t expect a restock. The sizing advice below still holds for any short cue you look at next.

Wrap or wrapless for a junior player

The Shorty came both ways. This one is wrapless: smooth finished maple all the way down. The sports-wrap version has a textured grip. For a young player, either one works. A wrapless handle is easy to wipe clean. A sports wrap is a little more forgiving if their hands get sweaty or they grip hard.

What matters more is the grip itself. A junior player should hold the cue loosely near the end of the butt, not squeeze it in the middle. The shorter length helps them do that.

The ONE shaft

Predator fitted the Shorty with its ONE shaft, a low-deflection design. In plain terms, when you use left or right English, the cue ball veers off your aim line less. Juniors who are just starting to use spin notice this.
