Predator Sport 2 Amp Black Pool Cue, Sport Wrap, Uni-Loc QR
The Predator Sport 2 Amp in this setup has a black matte maple forearm, the blue and gray Sport 2 logo, and Predator’s black five-zone sports wrap. It’s a four-piece hard maple butt with Predator’s Uni-Loc Quick Release joint and the Uni-Loc Weight Cartridge System, sold with your choice of Predator low-deflection shaft.
Quick status check: sold out. Predator lists the Sport 2 as discontinued on its site, so new stock is unlikely. What we do have is the Volt in two builds, sports wrap / Uni-Loc QR for $779 and wrapless / Radial for $699.
Already own a Predator Uni-Loc shaft?
Then this is the Sport 2 butt that would have made the most sense for you. Predator says any Uni-Loc shaft fits a Uni-Loc Quick Release butt, so a REVO, 314-3 or Z-3 you already play with would thread straight on. The Sport 2 was a common way to get into Predator’s Uni-Loc system at a lower price and upgrade the shaft later.
Since this Amp is sold out, the closest match we have is the white Volt with sports wrap and Uni-Loc QR. Same build, same joint, same wrap. Only the color is different.
How the Sport 2 is built
Predator made the butt from four pieces of hard maple instead of one solid blank. Its pitch for the Amp and the Volt was solid hits without the sting coming back into your hand. The Volt is the white version of the same cue. A stainless steel butt cap with an etched Predator logo finishes the back end.
Picking a shaft for it
Predator paired the Sport 2 with its own low-deflection shafts: 314-3 and Z-3 in maple, or a REVO carbon fiber upgrade. On a Uni-Loc QR butt, Predator says any Uni-Loc shaft fits. The reason to bother with low-deflection at all is English: put side spin on the ball and a standard shaft pushes it off line more.
