Poison VX Jump/Break Cue with Venom Carbon Fiber Shaft – Black/Gray

If you only want to carry one specialty cue, the Poison VX Jump/Break is built for that. It breaks at full length, and when you need to hop a ball you take the butt section off and you’ve got a short jump cue. This Black/Gray version keeps things dark. The forearm is black with a white Poison logo and the BRK-X mark, and the wrap is black with a gray and white pattern running around the handle.

How the Three Pieces Work

The cue comes apart in three pieces: the shaft, the forearm and the butt section. Put all three together and you have a full 58″ break cue. For a jump shot, unscrew the butt and play with the shaft and forearm only. The shorter, lighter cue is much easier to get down at a steep angle, and that’s what lifts the cue ball. You get two cues in one case slot.

Venom Carbon Fiber Shaft

The VX line now ships with Poison’s Venom carbon fiber shaft. Carbon doesn’t warp the way maple can, and it doesn’t need the same care. Poison builds the Venom as a low-deflection shaft, so the cue ball goes closer to where you aim when you break with a bit of English or jump off-center.

Phenolic Tip and Radial Joint

The tip is phenolic, which is about as hard as cue tips get. A hard tip transfers more of your stroke into the cue ball, and that’s what you want on a break or a jump. The Radial® joint holds the pieces tight, and Poison says it helps balance the cue. Poison Radial joint protectors come in the box.
