Cuetec – “Prestige” Red Pool Cue Wrap – 13-99274

Cuetec Prestige Red Pool Cue, Veltex Wrap (13-99274)

The Cuetec Prestige Red is a 58-inch, two-piece fiberglass-over-maple cue with a glossy red forearm and sleeve, black Implex accents and a black Veltex wrap. It plays at 19 ounces standard with a 13 mm shaft.

Sold out and discontinued. The Prestige series is off Cuetec’s current site, which now carries only Cynergy and AVID. It sold here for $216. If you want a Cuetec today, the AVID Opt-X starts at $332.

Changing the weight

The Prestige is 19 ounces standard. It has Cuetec’s Acueweight system, so you can make it heavier with add-on weights in half-ounce and one-ounce sizes, sold separately. The weights go in through the butt under the bumper.

Should you bother? Most players are fine at 19. Some like a heavier cue for a steadier stroke and easier power on long shots. Add weight in half-ounce steps and play a few sessions before deciding. Weight changes feel bigger than they sound.

How it’s built

Like most Cuetecs of its era, it’s clear fiberglass bonded over grade A North American maple. The fiberglass skin is why these cues shrug off dings and don’t warp the way plain maple can. It’s a 58-inch two-piece cue with Cuetec’s S.S.T. (Super Slim Taper) shaft, a 13 mm Tiger Everest tip and a 3/8×14 joint pin.

Warranty

Cuetec’s limited lifetime warranty covers defects, including warping, for the original buyer of a cue bought from an authorized dealer and registered within 60 days. Tips, ferrules, bumpers, finish and wraps are wear items and aren’t covered.
