Cuetec AVID Opt-X Mint Pool Cue

The AVID Opt-X Mint uses creme and mint points with wave accents, finished with stacked silver, mint and creme rings and a Leather-Tec wrap. The wave accents give it a different look from the rest of the Opt-X line, but underneath it’s the same A-grade, kiln-dried, vacuum-sealed hard maple cue with an AVID low-deflection shaft.

Picking a weight

The Opt-X is 19 ounces standard, and Cuetec’s Acueweight Generation II system lets us adjust it before it ships. Choose from 18 to 21 ounces at checkout.

• 18 to 18.5 oz: lighter and quicker through the ball. Good for touch and finesse.
• 19 oz: what most players use.
• 19.5 to 21 oz: heavier, with a more solid feel and easier power on long shots and breaks.

Not sure? Stay at 19. Acueweight adjusts in quarter-ounce steps, so you can change it later with Cuetec’s weight kit.

The AVID shaft

The shaft is glass-bonded maple with a super straight taper, built for low deflection. Pick 12.75 mm for a standard feel or 11.75 mm for a slimmer shaft. Cuetec also makes a 12.25 mm size (95-382-K), which we can order by phone. A Tiger Everest medium tip comes standard.

Joint and extension

The joint is a 3/8×14 Cuetec joint. If you ever want a carbon shaft, Cuetec’s Cynergy shafts are made for this joint. The bumper is ready for Cuetec’s Duo Smart Extension.
