Predator SP2 Palisander 2 Pool Cue
The Predator SP2 Palisander 2 is the warm one in the SP2 lineup. Its forearm is palisander, an exotic hardwood with a deep reddish-brown color and dark, wandering grain lines. Four matte black points run up through it, with a panther in that same palisander set into every one.
Next to the stained and metallic SP2 colorways, this cue reads as traditional. It’s the one you’d pick if you like the look of a classic wood cue but want Predator’s modern build underneath.
Pricing: $1,049 With a REVO Shaft
Our price is $1,049, matching what Predator lists on its website. For that you get the SP2 butt plus a REVO® carbon fiber shaft. Choose the 12.4 mm standard, the slimmer 11.8 or the fuller 12.9 in the Shaft Choice menu. None of them cost extra. Set your tip and weight in the next two menus.
Palisander 2 vs. Palisander 1
Predator makes this cue in two versions, and they’re easy to confuse.
- Palisander 2 (this cue): palisander forearm, matte black points, palisander panther inlay.
- Palisander 1: matte black forearm, palisander points, matte black panther.
The collar, butt cap, wrap and internals are the same on both. The 2 shows a lot more wood. If that’s what drew you to the cue, you’re on the right page.
About Palisander
Palisander is a trade name for several rosewood-type hardwoods. It’s dense and oily, which is why it has long been used for musical instruments and fine furniture. Expect the color to vary from one cue to the next. Some pieces run redder, some browner, and the grain lines land differently every time. Predator also uses palisander for the joint collar and butt cap, so the wood shows up at both ends.
The Build Underneath
Like every SP2, the Palisander 2 sits on Predator’s C4+ construction. The butt core is made from four spliced sections instead of a single piece of wood, which helps it stay straight and gives the cue a firm, consistent hit. Predator describes it as maximized stiffness with clean feedback, and that’s a fair summary of how it plays. Hard break-outs and soft position shots both come back through the butt the same way.
Handle and Hardware
The wrap is Predator’s extended Uni-Loc® Leather Luxe™. It’s pebbled leather and runs past the usual wrap length, which gives you more room to slide your grip without losing traction. At the other end is the Uni-Loc® Quick Release™ joint. Any current Uni-Loc shaft threads on, so a second REVO or a maple shaft added down the road will fit.
Weight starts at 19 oz. With the Uni-Loc® Weight Cartridge System you can move it anywhere between 18.5 and 20.5 oz in 0.10 oz steps.
A Note on Butt Length
What we carry is the 29″ butt. A 30″ version exists too, at $50 over the 29″, and some taller players and long-bridge players prefer it. When we listed this cue, Predator showed the 30″ as sold out. If you want one, call us and we’ll check whether Predator can get one to us.

Which REVO Should You Choose?
If you’re switching from a maple shaft, start with the 12.4 mm. The diameter is familiar and the learning curve is short. The 11.8 mm is for players who want a thinner shaft and the lowest deflection REVO makes. The 12.9 mm feels the most like an old-school full-size shaft. Not sure? Tell us what you play now and we’ll point you to one.
Is the Palisander 2 Right for You?
Pick it if you want wood you can actually see, in a darker, warmer tone than the green or lime SP2 cues. It also suits players who already own a REVO-equipped Predator and want a second butt with a completely different look. If you prefer the cue mostly black with just a hint of wood, the Palisander 1 is the better choice.
Palisander 2 Questions
What does the Predator SP2 Palisander 2 cost?
$1,049 with a REVO carbon fiber shaft included, the same as Predator’s listed price.
Is palisander the same as rosewood?
It’s a closely related family. “Palisander” is a trade name used for several rosewood-type hardwoods with similar color and density.
Will my cue’s grain match the photos?
Not exactly. Every piece of palisander is different, so expect some variation in color and grain.
Can I buy it without a shaft?
This listing includes a REVO. Call us if you want to discuss a different setup.
Does it come with a case?
No case is included. Predator includes cleaning towelettes, a microfiber cloth and patches.
Is it still in production?
It’s part of Predator’s Limited Edition SP2 collection. Predator hasn’t said how many it’s making, so we can’t promise more will come once these sell.
