The Shot Warrior Rutene is the front-weighted version of Shot’s Kapene barrel. Shot calls Kapene the captain and Rutene the steadfast lieutenant. It’s a 90% tungsten torpedo with a wide shark fin grip and cinder coating, and the set includes 35mm engraved steel points, Tao black carbon in-between shafts with rings, and Warrior Rutene flights. Each set is match-weighted to within 0.05 grams.

Steel tip only

These have steel points for bristle (sisal) dartboards. Don’t throw them at an electronic board; they’ll damage the segments. If you play on electronic boards, look at Shot’s soft tip sets such as the Warrior Tipu.

Front-weighted, and why that matters

With the weight forward, the dart wants to point nose-first as soon as it leaves your hand. Players who grip near the front, or who like the dart to pull toward the board, tend to find front-weighted barrels easier to keep on line. Shot adds a scallop near the center for players who hold mid-barrel, and the shark fin grip runs along the barrel so you can throw from any point on it.
