Predator BK4 Break Cue, Black, Wrapless
The Predator BK4 is Predator’s wood-shaft break cue. Predator describes it as combining the accuracy of the BK2 with the power of the BK3. This version is black with no wrap. It has a 29-inch BK4 break shaft with Vault Plate low-deflection technology, a redesigned TherMax ferrule, a KTRL hard synthetic tip and a Uni-Loc Quick Release joint.
The BK4 is still in Predator’s lineup. We’re out of stock on the wrapless black, and our last price was $429. The BK4 in black with sport wrap is in stock at $469.
BK4 or BK Rush?
Both are Predator break cues, but they’re built differently:
- BK4: wood shaft with a Vault Plate, a TherMax ferrule and a KTRL synthetic tip. About $430 to $470.
- BK Rush: REVO BK-R carbon fiber shaft, no ferrule, BK Hybrid leather tip. About $900 to $1,000.
The BK4 is the value pick and a good first dedicated break cue. The BK Rush costs about twice as much for a carbon shaft that won’t warp and has no ferrule to crack. See the black BK Rush and teal BK Rush.
Weight
Predator lists the BK4 at 19 oz standard, with 18.5, 19.5 and 20 oz available. A lighter break cue is easier to swing fast, and cue speed is what drives the break.
