Predator Limited Edition SP2 Red Metallic 2 Pool Cue
The Predator SP2 Red Metallic 2 is the red-forward version of Predator’s limited SP2 Red: a metallic red maple forearm with matte black points and a metallic red Predator cat. It has C4+ construction, an extended Leather Luxe wrap that runs to the butt cap, and a Uni-Loc Quick Release joint.
It’s sold out here at a last price of $899, which matched what other dealers charged. Seybert’s and Warehouse Billiards show it out of stock as well. For a limited SP2 in stock, see the SP2 Lime Green 2.
What C4+ means
C4+ is Predator’s cored construction for its mid-range and high-end cues. The butt is built around an internal core rather than solid wood all the way through. Predator’s aim is consistency and less vibration. Two SP2s with different finishes should hit very similarly, and that’s the point.
Living with a metallic red finish
A metallic finish hides fingerprints better than gloss black, but it shows chalk smudges on the forearm. Wipe the cue with a dry microfiber cloth after you play. Don’t use household cleaners, which can dull the finish. Store it in a case to avoid scratches, which show up easily on metallic paint.
Shaft and weight
Dealers offered 314-3, Z-3 or REVO shafts in 29 or 30 inches, with a Predator Victory soft tip. Weight runs from 18.5 to 20.5 oz, with 19 oz standard. Compare it with the SP2 Red Metallic 1, which reverses the colors.
