Bull Carbon Fiber Shaft with 3/8×10 Joint Insert
Bull Carbon, the carbon fiber line from Koda Sports, makes this shaft with swappable joint inserts. This one is set up for 3/8×10. $494.99.
Which cues take a {short} shaft?
The 3/8×10 pin, a 3/8-inch pin with 10 threads per inch, shows up on a lot of custom and production cues. Predator’s joint guide lists it on cues from 5280, Richard Black, Falcon, Hunter, Jacoby, Joss West, Judd, Lambros, McDermott, McWorter, OB Cues and Olivier.
3/8×10 and 3/8×11 are not the same
They’re both 3/8-inch pins, and they look almost identical, but the thread count is different. A 3/8×10 shaft won’t thread properly onto a 3/8×11 butt, and forcing it can damage both. Southwest cues, for example, use 3/8×11. Count threads or check your cue maker’s spec before ordering. If your butt is 3/8×11, use our 3/8×11 Bull Carbon shaft.
The shaft itself
Every Bull Carbon shaft is built the same way. The carbon fiber walls are 1 mm thick, which Bull credits for the shaft’s durability, and the joint insert comes out with Bull’s adapter tool (sold separately) if you change cues. It has a 16-inch pro taper, a black plate with a thin white Juma tip pad, and a Kamui Black soft tip installed. Standard length is 29 inches. A 30-inch shaft and an 11.75 mm diameter are also made; our standard listing is 12.25 mm, so call us if you want either option. Bull Carbon covers the shaft for 10 years against warping and defects.
