This is the warm one. The Predator True Splice 16 Red/Orange sets sixteen spliced points into black ebony and lines each of them with red, black, orange and yellow veneers. In the photos it almost looks like a flame, especially where the colors taper to a point up the forearm. The inside of each point is Ivorine and ebony. Ivorine is used again for the collar and butt cap, the cap carries Predator’s logo, and silver metal rings border a black lizard-grain leather wrap.

Our price is $1,688. That’s exactly what Predator charges for the cue with a REVO® carbon fiber shaft, and the shaft is included here too. The 12.4 mm REVO is the default, and you can switch to 11.8 or 12.9 mm for no extra charge. Tip and weight are selected below that.

Old-School Splice, Modern Shaft

There’s a reason full-splice cues are still around. Cutting each point into the butt as a solid V makes the forearm one connected piece, and a lot of players say they can feel that in the hit. Predator calls its version TrueSplice. Eight of the points are on the forearm and eight are on the butt sleeve. Put a REVO in front of it and you’ve got a traditional-looking cue with a low-deflection carbon shaft.

The Red/Orange Look

Red carries most of the color from across the room. Up close, the orange and yellow lines show up between it and the white Ivorine centers. Against the ebony, it’s the most energetic of the TS16 colors.

Joint and Weight Setup

The butt has a Radial® joint pin, and your REVO comes with the matching Radial joint. Out of the box the cue is set to Predator’s standard 19 oz. Thanks to the Uni-Loc® Weight Cartridge System, it can go anywhere from 18.5 to 20.5 oz.
